Tisha Hurteau, LMSW

Meet Tisha:

I have a passion for helping others. I thrive to help make a difference in the lives of others. I understand that life is filled with difficult challenges. I strive to provide support to others as they navigate through these moments of uncertainty. I practice from a solution-based perspective, which incorporates positive psychology principles to help clients navigate problems by focusing on the solution rather than the problem itself. I believe creating goals help clients produce healthy behavioral changes. I work to provide a safe environment for each person to express his or her concerns while engaging in the therapeutic process.

My experience is working with children on the spectrum, as well as children with behavioral issues.  I also have experience working in a psychiatric hospital setting in various departments. I work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, challenges in school,  relationship problems, communication, and life transitions.

I work with children, adolescents, and young adults. I take a mindfulness approach which allows one to be aware of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally in the moment without regard to life circumstances. Additionally, I utilize therapeutic approaches from cognitive-behavioral therapy, empowerment, and strengths-based.
