Tamara Stainton, LMSW

Meet Tamara:

My therapeutic emphasis is on client empowerment through exploration of client strengths utilizing therapeutic strategies of motivational interviewing and solution-focused treatment strategies. I pride myself on providing a casual, no judgement atmosphere for clients, where they can be themselves, take control of what they need and accomplish therapeutic goals.

My approach provides support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life changes. Treatment plans employ complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

I enjoy working with adults of all ages focusing on anxiety, depression, family stressors, grief and loss utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities.  Creating a supportive therapeutic environment for teens focused on behavioral modification, psychosocial rehabilitation, and creative modalities including art, play and music is an area of expertise I value and enjoy.

I hope to work alongside you in this next step of your mental health journey to make it feel rewarding, worthwhile, and effective. My personal approach to counseling is simple - I say that it’s like a band aid on a cut. I am not there to “fix” you, I am there to provide a safe, healthy, protected, and nurturing environment for you to heal on your own.
